Garrett Collier · Speaking

Good decisions. Uncertain outcomes.

Talks about responsibility, the systems we inherit, and what we choose to do next.

I bring a software developer’s perspective and a public administrator’s questions to conversations about leadership and uncertainty, with room for honest reflection and a little dry humor.

The Systems We Inherit

Most of us work inside systems we did not design. This talk explores how institutional incentives, technical decisions, and ordinary habits shape what those systems produce, and how to improve them without pretending we can start from scratch.

Potential focus: Understanding the existing process, making tradeoffs visible, and connecting technical improvements with the people an institution serves.

Intended audiences: Public administrators, civic organizations, technology teams, and students.

How Will You Respond?

Preparing for the Moment We Hope Never Comes.

Prevention matters, but it cannot promise complete control. This talk explores why preparedness depends on people, shared language, practiced relationships, and systems capable of responding when events depart from the plan.

Potential focus: The distinction between having a plan and being able to act together when it is needed.

Intended audiences: Education leaders, nonprofits, public-service organizations, and preparedness-focused events.

Event scope and any involvement of The "I Love U Guys" Foundation are discussed separately from personal speaking inquiries.
